Urgent Temporary Opportunity - Head of Finance (Education Sector)

📍 West London | Hybrid

📅 4-Week Contract | Start: Week Commencing 16th March

🕒 Full Time | 9am - 5pm

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance from the education sector to step into a 4-week temporary assignment in West London to support a handover period within a well-established organisation.

This is an urgent requirement, so the successful candidate must be immediately available and already hold a valid DBS check.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure strong financial controls
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
• Monitor P&L performance and provide financial insights to senior leadership
• Manage cash flow forecasting, purchase ledger, and supplier payments
• Oversee payroll and pension processing
• Manage VAT returns and statutory financial compliance
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Maintain and oversee financial systems such as Sage or similar platforms
• Provide clear financial reporting to senior leadership during the transition period

Requirements

✔ Previous Head of Finance / Senior Finance leadership experience

✔ Experience within the education sector

✔ Strong technical accounting background

✔ Experience with management accounts, forecasting, and compliance

✔ Proficiency with financial systems such as Sage or Xero

✔ Advanced Excel skills

✔ Active DBS check (essential)

✔ Able to start week commencing 16th March
