Ashley Kate are thrilled to be working with a client in the shipping industry who are searching for a Payroll Specialist to join their Finance team. Reporting into the HR Manager you will be responsible for processing payroll working with an outsourced payroll provider to ensure monthly payroll is completed in a timely and accurate manner, including tax calculations and appropriate deductions. To support Finance and all employees with payroll related tasks and queries.
 
Payroll Specialist - About the role
·To advise on local PAYE, benefits, and expenses to ensure compliance with HMRC guidance and policies.
·To manage and monitor the local and global employment tax compliance.
·To liaise with relevant third parties, including outsourced payroll providers, as required.
·To liaise with senior management and employees on various tax and employment related questions.
·To remain informed and up-to-date on PAYE changes from HMRC and advise as necessary.
·To support employees and other departments with any payroll related queries.
·To explore and resolve any payroll issues established by the Finance Department.
·To reconcile benefits such as pensions, EV Scheme, Loans, etc.
·To support relocation (end to end process) as required:
oLiaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding secondee packages
oProvide pay and benefit details and advise on any net or grossed up payments
oApply for amended tax codes and follow up with HMRC
oReconcile secondee's monthly pay and benefits
oLiaise with KPMG regarding Tax Equalisation, Hypothetical Tax and reconcile amounts to Finance
oAdvising the relevant overseas office regarding secondee's earnings in the UK
oOverseeing and managing all documentation relating to the global mobility population
·Ensure payroll reports reflect the full payroll information and is in a format ready for Finance to use.
·Ensure pensions, tax, NI are reported and paid correctly
·Ensure intercompany payroll invoices are correct, issued in a timely manner and paid
·Preparation of payroll budgets, including liaising with divisional heads to gather information of any changes to headcounts or structure
·Reporting of payroll to the auditors and answering any questions required
·Answering queries from the finance division and resolving any problems or variances
·To provide reports and data as and when necessary
·To compile and analyse data on a regular basis

·Experience with employee taxation
·Experience with pension calculations
