Senior HR Business Partner

Ashley Kate are pleased to be partnering with a unique and well-established business on an exciting interim opportunity for a Senior HR Business Partner. This 6 month assignment offers a dynamic split-location arrangement: you'll spend two weeks each month in the beautiful Channel Islands, with the rest of your time travelling to locations across the South and Midlands. Travel and accommodation costs are fully covered. Locations of bases in the South West/ East which can be the UK base can be either Hampshire or Bath. Salary circa £75k

This is not your typical HR role. We're looking for a commercially focused, forward-thinking Senior HRBP who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a proven background in retail or hospitiality.

This industry experience is essential, as you'll need to understand the operational landscape and challenges your stakeholders face.

In this role, you will play a critical part in leading transformational change projects. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will be instrumental in designing and delivering organisational change initiatives aimed at aligning the people strategy with future business needs. This will include overseeing restructures, managing organisational redesigns, and supporting business-wide cultural change. Naturally, with change comes complexity; you will also be heavily involved in managing the resulting employee relations (ER) matters, including consultations, employee engagement, and risk mitigation strategies.

You will lead and influence at a strategic level, shaping the people agenda across the Channel Islands operation. While you will oversee and mentor a small team of HR Managers, your primary focus will be on building and embedding a robust long-term people strategy, driving engagement, improving workforce capability through strategic workforce planning, and developing leadership and talent pipelines across a multi-site, customer-facing environment.

Senior HRBP - About you

  • Proven experience with luxury hotels, hospitality, high-end restaurants, leisure or retail.
  • Possess a detailed knowledge and experience of advising directly on a range of HR, management and employee relations issues within a complex organisation
  • Be CIPD or equivalent qualified, desirable
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to manage and mitigate risk, in an employee relations context, based on a highly developed understanding of relevant employment legislation and high-quality case planning
  • Significant experience of undertaking investigations and supporting managers during formal procedures, including drafting and collating a range of complex and detailed documents
  • Experience of supporting line managers to continuously improve employee performance and to effectively manage organisational change
  • Skilled in the provision of coaching, guidance and advice to Line Managers, drawing appropriately on best practice and relevant theories to improve standards of people management
  • Ability to think and act strategically whilst maintaining a pragmatic perspective
