HR Payroll Officer - 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

We are currently seeking a diligent and experienced HR Payroll Officer to support the Solihull plant. This role is crucial for supporting the payroll manager with payroll data and reporting, managing the Time & Attendance system, and providing support across HR and operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collate, validate, and submit payroll information in a timely manner for all employees.
- Manage weekly Time & Attendance reports, working closely with Finance and department leads to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Provide support for Line Managers during organisational changes and assist with related processes.
- Support training and development on payroll processes and the Time & Attendance system.
- Investigate Time & Attendance system queries, liaising with providers and IT teams, and escalating issues when needed.
- Build strong relationships with Line Managers to ensure visibility and smooth coordination across the plant.
- Assist with ad-hoc data consolidation projects, ensuring system accuracy.
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and customer needs.
- Maintain and update HRIS data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with effective communication across the plant to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and report on key performance measures against agreed standards during daily, weekly, and monthly reviews.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new HR initiatives aligned with business strategy.
- Support employee relations issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Update and maintain employee records in HRIS and physical files, supporting GDPR and digitalisation efforts.
- Provide coverage for HR Team projects and activities as required.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, legal, and compliance requirements, including HSE standards for safety.
- Take on additional projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualification, or a degree in a relevant field (desirable)
- Proven experience working at the HR Officer level, particularly within payroll and data management.
- Experience dealing with high-volume payroll data and generating detailed reports.
- Intermediate Excel skills, with the ability to compare large data files and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Experience in administering Time and Attendance Systems.
- Strong experience consolidating payroll information from multiple sources.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills.
- Empathic and active listener with the ability to support employees effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR information systems.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions.
- Able to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
