This is a permanent, full‑time role joining a privately owned manufacturing business within the metal industry. With a headcount of approximately 75 employees, you will be part of the Senior Management Team and work closely with Operations, supporting a diverse workforce and playing a crucial role during a period of organisational change.

Salary £47,500 per annum

This is a unique blend of operational and strategic HR, ideal for someone who enjoys being visible, hands‑on, and influential at senior level.

You will:

  • Sit as a full member of the Senior Management Team
  • Shape and drive the ongoing HR strategy
  • Lead policy and procedural development
  • Manage key compliance work, including significant legislative changes coming this year
  • Work extremely closely with Operations on labour planning, shift patterns, and daily staffing requirements
  • Handle employee relations at all levels from shop floor conversations to management support
  • Oversee all Right to Work checks, onboarding, and accurate employment contracts
  • Manage and input payroll before sign‑off
  • Support recruitment for day to day roles and explore direct sourcing approaches to improve turnover
  • Provide holiday cover planning, attend operational meetings, and stay connected with workforce realities
  • Ensure Breathe HR is accurately maintained and fully utilised
  • Lead on audit readiness, compliance, and documentation
  • Help build HR maturity as the business heads toward potential sale or management buyout
  • Champion good practice within a highly multicultural workforce
