Ashley Kate HR are working with a client in Derby recruiting for a HR Assistant to work onsite within an education setting, salary up to £30,000 FTE - Term time only.

About the role - HR Assistant

  • Carry out a range of HR administrative duties, such as drafting letters, emails, and other documents, using HR systems.
  • Keep both paper and digital employee records up to date and maintain management information systems.
  • Generate data and prepare reports as needed for the senior leadership team or HR.
  • Make sure all staff performance reviews are scheduled and completed according to policy.
  • Maintain the organisation's Single Central Record and ensure all employee files meet compliance standards, with support from the central HR team.
  • Provide day to day support and advice on queries related to HR policies.
  • Arrange and coordinate meetings linked to HR processes, such as booking rooms and taking notes for staff attendance reviews, investigations, or other meetings under the guidance of the central HR team.
  • Play a part in developing and improving internal HR systems and procedures.
  • Accurately and promptly update HR systems whenever changes occur.
  • Manage absence levels in line with the sickness policy and take the necessary actions when triggers are reached.
  • Create recruitment adverts for the organisation and coordinate recruitment activities, managing the full candidate process.
  • Influence and manager relationships with a number of different stakeholders.

About you - HR Assistant

  • Experience of working in a busy HR environment.
  • Experienced with HR systems managing data for reporting.
  • Can work as part of a team or alone using own initiative.
  • Open to learning and change, along with a positive attitude to personal development and training.
  • Studied to a GSCE Grade A*-C or 9-5 in Maths and English.
  • Efficient in using Microsoft office particularly word, excel, office and PowerPoint being able to analyse and manipulate data.
  • CIPD Level 3 or committed to working towards.
