Ashley Kate HR & Finance are supporting our client in the search for a HR Administrator on a temp or FTC basis for approx. 1 year contract March 2026 - March 2027.

This is a Hybrid role, working in the Education sector, reporting into the HR Business Partner alongside a team of 15 taking ownership of day to day HR administration across multiple sites.

Atherstone

Temporary/ Fixed Term Contract

30 Hours per week

Hybrid with travel to 2 other locations - Stoke on Trent and Newcastle-Under-Lyme

Salary £21,356 - £23,883 per annum DOE

About the role:

  • Support recruitment activity across the setting working with Recruitment Coordinators where required.
  • Maintain accurate employee information across HR systems, including data entry, routine and ad‑hoc reporting, and supporting the annual data‑cleansing process.
  • Ensure colleagues and line managers can easily access and follow ATT HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the administration of the probation process.
  • Support the staff induction process to ensure a smooth and positive onboarding experience.
  • Assist in managing the holiday booking process for permanent staff.
  • Maintain organised and up‑to‑date personnel files (both paper and electronic).
  • Liaise with Payroll to ensure all new starters, leavers and contractual changes are processed correctly.
  • Process staff changes and leaver documentation, arranging exit interviews where needed.
  • Produce HR correspondence such as contract variations, maternity letters and holiday entitlement letters using standard templates.
  • Minute‑take at formal HR meetings, including disciplinary, capability and grievance hearings.
  • Monitor fixed‑term contracts and ensure timely follow‑up actions.

About you:

  • Previous experience in an HR or administrative role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across all levels
  • A proactive approach, working on own initiative.
  • Strong IT skills, including experience working with HR systems and Microsoft Office
  • A discreet and professional approach when handling sensitive information
  • A genuine interest in supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive working environment
