We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a well-established education provider on a fixed term contract, with an immediate start available.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will take responsibility for delivering accurate and timely monthly management accounts, supporting the annual budget and flexed budget process, and producing statutory year-end accounts and financial returns (including DfE submissions). You will also maintain rolling forecasts and cashflow projections to support strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the production of monthly management accounts, year-end statutory accounts and DfE financial returns
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including cashflow management
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, ensuring strong controls and compliance
  • Manage and develop the Finance Team
  • Provide financial guidance to budget holders and senior leaders
  • Maintain oversight of payroll journals, VAT, pensions, grants, bursaries and debt management
  • Act as key contact for auditors and external stakeholders
  • Deputise for the Director of Finance when required

Ideal candidate:

  • CIMA qualified (part-qualified candidates will be considered)
  • Proven experience in financial management or management accounting
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, procedures, budgeting and accounting principles

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical accounting experience within a busy education environment. Immediate availability is highly desirable.
