Hours: 8:30am – 5pm Monday to Friday

Our client, a leading FMCG organisation is looking to appoint a Finance Operations Manager to be based in Callington, near Plymouth on a full-time permanent basis. It’s an exciting time to be joining them, as they are currently undergoing a streamlining project across all their sites for a more unified working process.

Reporting to the Director of Shared Services, you will be responsible for leading and managing the general ledger team and deputising to the Financial Director as required. Along with day to day responsibilities of the team, you will be accountable for all technical accounting activities within the Shared Services function.

Your duties will include, but not limited to;


  • Ensuring the Shared Services manual is kept up to date by the team and any changes communicated/issued accordingly
  • Full ownership of the VAT returns for the Group and the VAT specialist for Shared Services
  • Responsible for approving payments for Shared Services
  • Reporting requirements as designated by the Business and the Director of Shared Services
  • Ongoing development, training and mentoring of the Ledger team to ensure they are multi-skilled

Essential requirements


  • Either CIMA/ACCA qualified
  • Previous experience in a shared services environment
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Experience working to and managing SLA’s
  • Proven track record in improving the performance of systems and ways of working
  • Proactive and hands on approach
