Ashley Kate Finance are working with a valued client to recruit a Part-Time Finance Assistant to support their busy finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and experience in both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

As Finance Assistant, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of AP and AR tasks. This position offers flexibility and the chance to be part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing supplier invoices and credit notes
  • Initiating and managing payments via Sage and banking platforms
  • Maintaining accurate supplier records and reconciling accounts
  • Investigating and escalating invoice queries
  • Managing customer collections and issuing statements
  • Proactively chasing overdue payments via phone and email
  • Liaising with internal teams to resolve queries and disputes
  • Escalating significantly overdue accounts as needed
  • Performing weekly reconciliations for GBP, USD, and EUR accounts
  • Supporting month-end processes
  • Carrying out ad hoc finance tasks as required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Experience with Sage (preferred) or similar accounting software
  • Good communication skills - written and verbal
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
