Ashley Kate HR & Finance are recruiting on behalf of an exciting and growing business near Hornsea that is entering a new phase of development. With expansion plans underway strong financial foundations are essential, and this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of that journey.

This is a fully onsite role reporting into the Head of Finance. While the title is Accounts Assistant, this is not a junior-level position. We are looking for someone confident, capable and ready to take ownership, use their initiative and hit the ground running.

The Role:

This is a broad, hands-on finance position with significant exposure to core accounting processes, including:

  • Handling day-to-day financial transactions
  • Maintaining and updating financial records
  • Heavy involvement in journals and month-end processes
  • Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Supporting month-end and year-end reporting
  • Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manipulating financial reports and data
  • Supporting reconciliation of daily takings
  • Providing general administrative support to the finance team

About you:

You will have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience using accounting software
  • Advanced IT literacy with intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with journals, reconciliations, month-end processes and financial reporting is essential.
